We are delighted to have gained a new member for the German Association of Doctoral Candidates: The Doctoral Council of the University of Lübeck contacted us some time ago and has now is now our next active member, until the final decision is made at the general meeting at the end of the month. Their participation will further strengthen our network.
The University of Lübeck is known for its informal atmosphere and its focus on medicine and medical technology. We are pleased to announce that the Lübeck doctoral student representatives are now part of the organization. By working together, we can better address the needs and challenges of doctoral candidates. In Lübeck, the main issues are contract terms (WissZeitVG), lack of planning security and the teaching load for externally funded positions. The work together with their university leadership to continuously improve conditions for PhDs and organize events like “Tea & Thesis”, where doctoral students can work on their dissertation together.
We are convinced that the collaboration with the University of Lübeck will further strengthen our voice and will help to improve the situation for doctoral students in Germany as a whole. We are convinced that we can achieve more together. If we work for better conditions conditions and more co-determination, we can make a difference in the long term.
We are delighted that the University of Lübeck is now involved. We are already very excited about working together. If you’d like to know more about their work, we’ve included a link to their website below.
